Basic freedoms like the right to rent a home or receive medical care are missing in 29 states for LGBTQ+ Americans. To illustrate this, the Human Rights Campaign created the Reality Flag, which features only 21 stars for the states that do guarantee those rights. This is the flag I would fly today.
There’s something very strange and dangerous happening in our country. First and foremost, it is more important than ever for all of us to show up and do our part in our local primary elections and the midterm election this November.
