I heard a playlist recently that took me right back to the time in my youth when I discovered alternative music that one didn’t find on Top-40 lists. It was as if I’d entered a musical Land of Oz. And, naturally I started wearing rolled up Levi’s, Dr. Martens boots and black… lots of black. I even pierced my ears. It was a glorious time.

My playlist for March is a little sampling of some of those moments. Enjoy!

A little favor…

This little blog, my social media nonsense and my occasional podcast run on elbow grease, midnight oil and the frequent bad idea. Access is totally free. Any help you can give so I can continue to produce content and keep the lights on would be immensely appreciated. There is a one-time support option or a recurring subscription through Patreon, which also features exclusive content like my one-man podcast ‘Hahn, Solo’. Thank you so much!!!

Yes on ALL of this, save for the patchouli, my dear George! That shit just makes me wanna hurl.

You’re providing a valuable service to the kids, reminding them there was a time where there was tremendous breadth and depth to danceable music.

  2. God that takes me back too – and I’m from Belfast. The power of music and the sense of identity it supports.

  3. Nice playlist…the Fugzai track was a suprise!
