Sleeve 2E For iPad

Every week, Macworld reviews a slew of new iPad covers. Most of them look like they fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. Clunky, dorky, over-designed and un-sexy. A company called Choiix, however, has created what might be my favorite iPad protection since Apple’s own Smart Cover. They call it Sleeve 2E.

BookBook: iPhone and Wallet In One

Wallet, keys, lip balm, lighter, iPhone… These are the things I stuff in my pockets every time I leave my apartment. When I’m wearing a suit or a jacket, it’s always a little easier since I have breast pockets to use. But when I’m wearing jeans and something with no pockets above the waist, it gets tricky. Enter BookBook for iPhone by TwelveSouth. “Bound” in handsomely distressed leather with a spine design worthy of an Upper East Side show-off library, this pocket wonder holds your iPhone 4 on the inside right and enough pockets inside left to hold 3 or 4 cards, an ID and some cash.

Revisiting Ponyboy, Sodapop and The Rest of “The Outsiders”

From left: Tom Cruise, Rob Lowe, C. Thomas Howell, Matt Dillon, Ralph Macchio, Emilio Estevez and Patrick Swayze

I first saw “The Outsiders” in its initial theatrical release in the spring of 1983. At the time, I was a twelve year old kid in junior high like Ponyboy Curtis. Though I definitely had more in common with a Soc than a Greaser, I honed in on Ponyboy’s adolescent rumblings of confusion, anger and disconnection, as well as his desire to belong, to fit-in and to simply get along.
