As a critical fan of the horror genre, including the zombie sub-genre spawned by George Romero with Night of The Living Dead in 1968, I was thrilled with the first season of “The Walking Dead” on AMC. Great story, great special effects, great performances, great show.

Next month starts the show’s second season, this time with thirteen episodes (as opposed to the six episodes of season one). By the look of the teaser, it looks like the whole remaining cast returns to fight for their survival among the walking dead.

Since I don’t have cable, I purchased the Season Pass for Season One of “The Walking Dead” from iTunes/AppleTV. No commercials, HD video and bonus features. I’ll be doing the same for Season Two when it becomes available.

Season Two premieres on October 16th at 9 p.m./8 p.m. Central on AMC.
