Tom Ford Is Still the GOAT
In terms of personal style, Tom Ford's superpower is his innate understanding of human interest, sexual attraction, commercial appeal, and the intersection where they all meet.

I'm fascinated by successful people with considerable spending power who essentially live in one outfit. I think they’re onto something.
"I tend to like the classic rules of traditional men's wear." - Tom Ford
As a man and a brand, Tom Ford is an elegant, sophisticated and masterful curator of what looks good and what turns us on.
Say what you will or feel what you feel about Ricky Gervais. I care not, unless, of course, you love his brand of raw and honest humor as I do. I think he did a brilliant job performing his emcee duties in his unique “if they’re thinking it, say it” way at this year’s Golden Globes. For telling the brutal truth, hitting it all where it lives and ending the broadcast with “That’s it. We’re out of time. From myself and Mel Gibson: Shalom,” he won and earned the #ZeroFucksGiven award hands-down.
Few things make me cringe more than a man who gets “experimental” with black tie. It’s doubly disappointing when it’s a movie star, who has unfettered access to more resources than we average mortals could touch in four lifetimes. But when a man – movie star or mortal – gets it right, it’s thrilling.
I break designer collections down to two categories: 1) fashion, designed for spectacle for other people in fashion, people who work in retail, legitimate celebrities and rock stars, or club kids with trust funds; and 2) clothes, designed with restrained elegance for people who live and work in a real world with constraints. I’m interested in the latter.
This past week’s Autumn/Winter 2015 London Collections: Men had a little bit of both, with unremarkable bits in between. As for the real clothes for real people, there were some fantastic pieces. My favorites included inspirations from Gieves & Hawkes, Hardy Amies, Pringle of Scotland, Richard James and Tom Ford.
