The Design of Time: Karlsson “Book” Clock

Time. Now is a surreal financial time. So surreal that I traded in my beloved 16 year old stainless steel Rolex Oyster for a Swatch. As Auntie Mame said to Ito when presenting him with a simple watch for Christmas during the Depression:

I don’t think time is worth all that much decoration these days.

Clock maker Karlsson, with the appropriate tagline “For Better Times,” has made some exceptions with a collection of terrific looking clocks. Designer Sjoerd van Heumen has made a nifty table/shelf clock for Karlsson that looks like three primary-colored books. There is an alternate design in black. It takes two AA batteries.
