We all know David Lynch from his dark, nightmarish and deliciously disturbing films like Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, Lost Highway, Mulholland Dr., Inland Empire and the cult favorite television series Twin Peaks. (If you aren’t familiar, get familiar.)
Mr. Lynch is clearly an avid music lover with eclectic tastes, and his film work has always been richly layered with music sourced from original cuts as well as scores from his longtime soundtrack composer Angelo Badalamenti. Last year, Mr. Lynch added an album of his own music to his résumé: Crazy Clown Time. His self-directed video for the title track is another absurdist piece of video that, like the song, seems to poke into the cage of a football culture that can sometimes – let’s be honest – be colored with real tool-shed, steakhead behavior.
Like all his work, it’s unapologetically twisted and wonderful.
