A few back, my brother Mark’s original iPhone was run over by a car and left for dead. It didn’t look good. The glass was shattered and there was irreparable pixel damage on the left third of the screen. BUT… it still worked, sort of. Like a Timex watch after a rough licking, his old iPhone keeps on ticking.

It’s a credit to Apple that, after being run over by a car, the phone technically continued to work as it did when it was new. Though Mark soon replaced the phone with a trusty 3GS, which he still uses as I write this, he keeps the old iPhone and uses it as an iPod Touch.
