My decision to buy a Brompton bike was not a quick one. But after such long deliberation and careful consideration, I'm very glad I did it.
What Mattered at the SS15 London Collections: Men
For the most part, men’s fashion shows or collection look books seem to cater to men in a rock band or to rich, club kid, fashion-slave pop tarts who might as well complete the look with a Michael Kors-branded lunchbox and a Molly-flavored lollipop. Personally, I’m interested in the more grown-up aesthetic that can actually be worn by a confident adult man over thirty-five without trying to recapture lost youth – a filter that really narrows the playing field.
I never take a designer’s (or, now, brand’s) collection hook, line and sinker. There are pieces or looks within the collection I admire for inspiration or ideas. I may like the suit or jacket, but not the shirt worn with it, which doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate the work overall.
Fashion is fickle. But no one is going to rewrite or reinvent men’s clothing – particularly the tailored kind – on any real scale in our lifetime. After a trend has it’s moment, things always circle back to the framework around which everything else is based. That said, I really appreciate new twists on color and pattern combinations and accents that never occurred to me before. Give me handsome, masculine and wearable. And throw in a little old Hollywood glamour, if there’s time.
With that, here is a handful of looks, ideas and inspirations I found particularly handsome from the Spring 2015 London men’s fashion week, known as London Collections: Men.

Thanks for curating the show for us “classic” men. I love the DB white jacket with the navy pants!
