Other than my watch and a silver I.D. bracelet I occasionally wear, cufflinks are the only other place I’m comfortable sporting bling as a man. For me, they’re one of the few instances where a man can sparkle, literally. Too much jewelry can get too tacky, too desperate, or just too too for a guy.
I just stumbled on these handsome and elegant personalized cufflinks at – wait for it – the Wedding Channel Store. But there’s no need to be getting married to sport these babies. I think going to dinner and a movie is a perfectly legitimate occasion. These things exhibit a certain masculine je ne sais quoi that is just “under the top.”
Anchored in a silver plated setting, the Black Square Cufflinks have a simple black background with a single initial engraving. There is a choice of seven handsome typefaces, ranging from modern sans-serif to traditional serif to script or calligraphy. For myself, I’d go for a capital “G” in Futura, along with another “H” pair like the photo. “G” on the left cuff, “H” on the right. (Overthinking? No… detail-oriented.)
For the extra kick, they ship in a gift box that says “Wedding Channel Store” on it, which could be a particularly hilarious gift under the right circumstances.
A pair can be had for a cool $20.
