When it comes to accessories and jewelry on men, I’m a less-is-more kind of a guy. In a land of sartorial screamers desperate to be noticed for something… anything… I think understated is underrated. For me, the understated beat is doubly true when it comes to tech-related accessories.
I’ve never been a fan of iPhone cases, opting for the phone’s exquisite design as is. (I’ve never seen a case that improved or even matched the iPhone’s naked aesthetics.) With a gadget or any accessory, I prefer a design that integrates seamlessly and quietly with one’s own existing look and lifestyle.
As Tim Cook unveiled Apple’s much anticipated Watch yesterday, we saw many style options, ranging from the simple and subdued to the brightly colored. My own eye moved right past the Skittles-colored Crocs collection and focused on the simple, handsome, elegant and grown-up designs in stainless steel. My own watch is stainless steel, and my cufflinks and I.D. bracelet are silver. I’ve always preferred the finish of steel or silver to gold. It has a clean, strong and distinctly masculine feel to it. Never gaudy.
I won’t likely be getting Apple’s Watch when it becomes available next year. But if someone put a gun to my head and made me buy one, I’d go with one of the stainless steel case and strap designs – my favorite being the one with the steel mesh “Milanese Loop.” If you ever need a replacement or fancy a change of style, Mobile Mob has a wide range of straps and bands for Apple Watch owners. Quite handsome, elegant, sophisticated and wearable for the most casual to the most formal occasions. And they’re among the few from the initial offering that won’t make you look like an overgrown ten-year-old playing Secret Agent with your first neon rubber Hello Kitty watch.

It’s definitely the best looking of the bunch, but it’s still no Moto 360.
SO glad i’ve just read this- I thought i was the only one who didnt really like what i saw. A watch should be a real symbol of style especially for guys which is why James Bond always sticks with the likes of Omega and TAG is also a leader- there’s nothing really quite stylish about the iWatch at all -Aaron (At Luke 1977)
Funny, odd, or sad (not sure which) that Apple wants to sell a fashion product but all the presenters at their events wear whatever they rolled out of bed in.
If you scroll this link you can see that the attire just gets worse and worse. Geez these guys are frickin’ billionaires.
