For the amount you size up ( actual waist size and 2 sizes larger in length) what temperature water do you use to soak the jeans?

Depends on how much you want them to shrink.

i would like them to shrink about 1″ ( 1 size down) in the waist and about 4″( 2 sizes down) in the inseam. levis doesn’t provide much info about water heat and how it correlates to shrinkage

Warmer water. Almost hot, I’d say.

Hi just purchased STF 501s, how long do you suggest I should wear them for before giving them their first wash to shrink them. Thanks Andy.

Wear them until you can’t stand it. They’re giant when they arrive. Wear them until they start to “know” your shape around the waist, butt, crotch, knee, etc.
Andrew
Thanks for your reply, I’ll do that, for at least a month.
