A great outdoor set at the Hell's Kitchen Flea Market

Weather-permitting, I always do a lap through the Hell’s Kitchen Flea Market, which happens on West 39th Street between 9th and 10th Avenues on Saturday and Sunday. Sometimes there is an overflow of gems that catch my eye, sometimes not. There are furniture items, unique housewares and home accessories, collectibles, records, glasses, photos, bags, hats, clothes and accessories (though women can typically have more fun at the flea with the clothes), and much more. Every weekend, it’s like a different store, always worth a walk-through at the very least.

I’m a sucker for flea markets, and I love Hell’s Kitchen Flea, particularly since it’s basically in my back yard. As I look around my apartment, I see three lamps, a vintage Hardoy butterfly chair ($50!!!) and other accessories I’ve found over the years at the HK Flea – all totally unique pieces that could never be found from a store or catalog. It’s a neighborhood treasure.

What caught my eye this weekend…
