Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve gotten to know Philip Pravda over at Pravda 1908, an exclusive family owned and run men’s clothier on Madison Avenue at E. 51st Street. Several years ago, Philip took the reigns of the company after his father retired.

Catering to a discerning man of means, Pravda 1908 features extremely handsome and well-made Italian suits that start at around $1,700 and go upwards from there, putting them far out of range for me and many of my readers. However, Philip is celebrating the 104 years of the family business with a suit sale. In addition to the gorgeous essential navy, gray and black suits in super 150 all-season Tasmanian wool with single-breasted/two button jackets and flat-front trousers, there are also fantastic chalk stripe, pinstripe and windowpane suits in the collection. As an added bonus, there is also a stunning, classic, movie star grade black tuxedo, single-breasted with a peak lapel.

I stopped in the store to check it all out and try a suit on. All the suits have a classic cut with an incredible hand, pick stitching and not too much pad in the shoulder. They look and feel terrific. Pravda 1908 also does tailoring in house.

Here’s how the sale works: Your first suit is 50% off, and your second suit is $19.08 (that’s nineteen dollars and eight cents). At full price, the suits in the collection range from $1,695 to $1,885. This means that you can walk away with two incredible Italian suits for $869.08. The sale will continue through August. For suits this beautifully made, this is a sale absolutely worth looking at for any man in the market for an essential suit or something extra special for his arsenal.
