delonghi-kmix-blue-tn

It’s been years since I’ve enjoyed my coffee with any milk or its soy cousin. I drink my coffee black. When I’m out to dinner, I usually enjoy dessert with something I don’t get at home: espresso. I love espresso. The time may be coming for a trusty (and compact) expresso machine at home. DeLonghi has come up with the smart and colorful kMix Collection of coffee makers, espresso makers, tea kettles and toasters. The price tag for the espresso … Continue reading

A Little Shopping: Coffee Beans and Brita Filters

tn-movies-tv

Keeping consistent with my “Make Your Own Damn Coffee” tip, I just picked up a pound of Columbian Supremo French Roast beans at Empire Coffee & Tea. Otherwise, I order from Hyper Hound Coffee in Texas (their coffee is fantastic, and they donate 15% of their profits to no-kill animal shelters) or grab a pound from Porto Rico Importing Co. when I’m in their neighborhood in the Village or SoHo. I also picked up more Brita water filters. Don’t buy … Continue reading

In addition to my favorite baked treats, like the Kitchen Sink cookie, a country biscuit, a baguette, a turkey & avocado sandwich, or a piece of red velvet cake, Amy’s also serves delicious coffee. When I stopped in last week for a quick cup to go, I noticed a new item on the shelf: Amy’s granola. Can’t wait to … Continue reading

They do, however, have a humble over-the-counter storefront for walk-in customers, featuring delicious breads, pastries and excellent coffee. There is a great counter at the window where you can enjoy your coffee and bread while reading the New York Times. They also do special orders. I heart … Continue reading

The Daily Morning Coffee Ritual

It’s “Life In A Day” day on YouTube. A historic global experiment to create a user-generated feature film, shot in a single day. Produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Kevin Macdonald, the completed documentary will be shown at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2011. My Submission: This is my daily grind every morning. I make the coffee the old school way, chez Chemex, and do very little in the way of conversation or work until I’ve consumed at … Continue reading

The Coffee Ritual

I owe this life-changing coffee ritual to Janis Siegel, friend and client who makes me coffee with her Chemex when we have our little biz meetings at her place. Get yourself a Chemex: www.chemexcoffeemaker.com
